extremely proud to provide her with this scholarship to assist her in reaching
her higher education goals.
Unable to attend college right out of high school, Suzanne now has the
opportunity 32 years later. "As a single parent of a disabled child, the greatest
obstacles I face are financial in nature; therefore, your financial assistance
has helped lessen a tremendous burden." Suzanne is beginning her fourth
year of school and is working towards her BS in Health Sciences with a
double minor in Business & Economics. She states, "I really enjoy all aspects
of school, especially the sense of accomplishment it gives me. To date, I have

BILLIE B.
NEO A&M College
2009-2010 Recipient
Major: Physical Therapy Assistant
Congratulations! Billie is our newest scholarship recipient this year. She is a
single mom and is now in her sophomore year at NEO.
Billie figured out her calling in the 8th grade when she volunteered for a group
called "Kids Helping Kids." It was then she decided "to do something would
allow me to touch the lives of handicap children and to be changed by having
them touch mine." In 2007, she decided it was time to go back to college. Her
first semester was nothing buy extraordinary when she made Phi Theta
Kappa, an honor society for two-year college students, and the Presidents
Honor Roll. This semester she is beginning her first round of clinicals and by
July 1st 2010 she will be taking her state board exam.
